There will be no Sunday Lesson Recap this week. Instead, here's a video on being grateful from the Mormon Channel (the Church's YouTube channel). Have a great holiday!

Sunday Lesson Recap: "Repentance"
This week, our lesson was from the Gospel Principles manual - chapter 19 "Repentance" Shar gave a great lesson and here are some of the highlights:
- Repentance takes:
- A - Admit
- B - Be Sorry
- C - Confess
- C - Correct
- D - Don't do it again
And most important:
- F - Forgive Yourself
- Repentance is really all about the Atonement. How much do we need the Atonement - even if we haven't sinned.
- People don't always understand the things we've been through, but the Savior does.
- We have every chance and opportunity to repent - even if we mess up again, we can always do better. And that's what the Atonement is for.
- Repentance takes:
- Great Courage
- Much Strength
- Many Tears
- Unceasing Prayers
- Untiring Efforts to Live the Commandments

Annoucements for the Week of Nov. 14
Been off going crazy for the last week, but here's this week's announcements:
Monday - FHE at 7:00 pm at the church. President Monson will be there and they'll be serving steak and lobster.
(Okay, I'm kidding about President Monson and the lobster. I'm just taking a cue from Brother DeLoach since no one was sure what we're doing. But come to the church at 7:00 pm for FHE anyway and be surprised).
Thursday - Relief Society Social at 7:00 pm. We're calling it a "Pie and Recipe" Night, but you can bring any kind of dish you like for the holidays (not just pies). Make sure you bring the recipe as well (and if you don't have time to make something, you can just bring your favorite recipe and that's fine).
Just as a heads-up - we'll be having a Relief Society Christmas activity on December 8. More details to follow.
Some branch activities - we have a temple assignment on December 17-18. We're scheduled for sealings on the 17th and a session on the 18th.

- Agency, "The Three Rs of Choice" (President Thomas S. Monson)
- President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Pride and the Priesthood" - Counsel to humble ourselves and be accepting of others.
- Elder Jairo Mazzagardi, "Avoiding the Trap of Sin" - Know your decision before the question comes up.

Sunday Lesson Recap: "Faith in Jesus Christ"
This week's lesson was Chapter 18 from the Gospel Principles manual - "Faith in Jesus Christ." Some highlights:
- Faith=Trust - we can't trust someone we don't know.
- We can gain faith in Christ by learning about Him and His teachings in the scriptures.
- 1 Nephi 8 - The Vision of the Tree of Life
- Some people partook of the fruit, but their faith failed and they fell away. Other people held fast to the iron rod and made it to the Tree and partook of the fruit.
- The Plan of Salvation takes faith to follow every step of the way - from the pre-existence to our mortal lives here on earth and even in the Spirit World.
- Jesus Christ is the center of the Plan of Salvation and we must have faith in Christ to have success in the plan.
- Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thing heart and lean not unto thine own understanding
Thanks to Deanna for a great lesson! Next week is the 5th Sunday with the branch presidency.
